Gianluigi Buffon knew if Celtic FC, Celtic Park, has an incredible atmosphere. However, Juventus goalkeeper admitted undaunted.
Buffon never feel the atmosphere of Celtic Park when it come to Juve in the Champions League 2001-2002 season if only from the bench. At that time, Juve lost 3-4 of the host.
Besides with Juve, Buffon also played in Glasgow playing for Parma in the game counter Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA Cup in 1998.
Now Buffon will return to Glasgow and competed at Celtic Park with Juve to carry out the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday (02/13/2013) pm dawn. Despite knowing the audience in the stadium are going all out to support the host, Buffon will not be intimidated.
"I've never played here (Glasgow) two or three times with Parma and Juventus despite the last 10 years ago I was on the bench," said Buffon told Sky Sports.
"It was the last match in the group and we have gone through. Atmosphere that is very English, but as I recall, no fans ever scored," he added.
"Of course the audience can help Celtic but only in certain points. Opponents should not be complacent with this and should focus on his own game," said 35-year goalie.
"The atmosphere is the most heat where I've played maybe Turkey, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Course here Celtic and Rangers, they have had a full stadium when the atmosphere was incredible, we had this year and we greatly respect," he said.
