New Contract signed, Giggs Will Play to Age 40 Years

Not many non-goalie players that can play up to the age of four heads. With the signing of the contract extension, Ryan Giggs will be one of the players.

Giggs has just agreed a contract extension with Manchester United. Duration of one year contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until the end of season 2013/2014.

With the new contract, Giggs will automatically pass the age of 40 while still active as a professional player. He will celebrate the 40th anniversary of her on November 29, 2013.

"I feel good, enjoy football more than ever. Most importantly, I feel to contribute to the team," said Giggs on Manchester United's official website.

"I am delighted to have signed a new contract. I would like to thank Sir Alex (Ferguson) and the coaching staff and I also want to thank the (Manchester United chief executive) David Gill, who has provided outstanding support during my years here," he said.

Giggs diving debut for Manchester United on March 2, 1991. Since then, he has strengthened the 'Red Devils' in 931 games and scored 168 goals. During his 22 years living in Old Trafford, he has won 12 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, two Champions Leagues, one UEFA Super Cup, one Intercontinental Cup and one Club World Cup.

This weekend, Giggs likely to carve a special note. If dropped off at the game against Norwich City, the player whose full name is Ryan Joseph Giggs will play the 1,000 th game in his career, both at club level and internationally.
