Suarez immediately so players Liverpool mainstay since imported from Ajax Amsterdam in early 2011. The Uruguay striker has donated a total of 41 goals for living in Anfield.
Although he is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, Suarez has never played in the Champions League with Liverpool. Understandably, the Kop has always failed to qualify for the most glamorous competition since the last time it participated in the season 2009/2010.
Gerrard realized that players of the caliber Suarez has the ambition to perform at such a prestigious Champions League competition. Therefore, he is determined to lead his team to finish in the top four zones that Suarez at home and has no intention to leave.
"Hopefully, we can fight for him between now and the end of the season in order to finish top four and we could keep it," said Gerrard told Sky Sports.
"Only he knows what ambitions and dreams. Luis deserve to be in the Champions League. Everybody has to admit that," he continued.
"Outside of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, I think he's as good as any player," said Gerrard.
"He's probably the best player playing with me and I play with some of the top players in my career," he said.
Liverpool currently occupy seventh position standings with 34 points from 23 matches. They left behind seven points from Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth.
